My Trinket

Inspired by Dottie's post, and in agreement with her Emily citation:
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry’s cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I’ll put a trinket on.

-Emily Dickinson

I have switched out my pink flower, and am now wearing a spray of mums and leaves.

Love it! Very pretty and festive. I'll bet drivers are nicer when confronted with flowers.

I want to figure out a way to hook Christmas lights to my dyno hub :)

Thank you for reminding me I want to go to the craft store this evening! Flowers for my hair and my bike basket. I love this on you!

Dottie, I've already gotten two comments, both from young men, both very favorable to the adornment though in both cases they said "I like your flower, errr leaves, I guess they're leaves..."(as they suddenly feel self conscious).

I just gave them my biggest smile and a heart-felt THANK YOU!

Your Christmas lights sound like a great idea! I don't know how to rig them to a dynohub, I'd probably get lazy and go for the battery-powered ones. I have bells for my bike at Christmas, but I get many more comments on my helmet accessories.

I like the idea of seasonally appropriate cycling decor! Plus decorating that lower part of the helmet with flowers gives it a nice form. Holly for winter?

Ok, that's just cute

Filigree, I'd planned poinsettia for Christmas, but holly would be good. Maybe I should go all the way for mistletoe?

kfg, now I'm blushing!
